I wanted to talk a little bit about 'music snobbery'. I notice most music snobs have their specific genre and rarely get out their comfort zone. Music snobbery is an unfortunate mixture of arrogance, alienation of those the snob feels are less fit in their understanding of said genre, exclusivity, and cooler-than-thou attitude. I've been that guy, before. It's really silly. You can't turn people onto stuff or learn about other music if you set yourself up as that guy.
Moral superiorty about music taste is subjective nonsense. You'll never get someone to like something you like if you treat them like shit and you're an asshole to that person. You're subjective goal as a music enthusiast or aficiando should always be the ability to exchange information and grow your music collection.
